Troubleshooting Tablet Onsite

Troubleshooting a Tablet can depend on your location, tools, and equipment. Here are a few ways (so far) to troubleshoot a tablet onsite.

  • Using your Hotspot

    • If a Tablet white screens, it is usually a sign of a connection lost. It usually leaves you little to no wiggle room in getting it back online. A way to solve it is to use your Hotspot and change the SSID and credentials to match the Tablets saved networks keys or implemented network SSID and password. If you do not have access to your or know your Hubs Network SSID and password, reach out to SLS or Hearo Technologies.

  • Hexnode

    • Hexnode is the website Hearo Technologies uses to manage all Apple Tablets. If a tablet is having problems white screening or stuck and unresponsive, but still connected to a network, you can use Hexnode to easily fix that. Most Apple Tablets will have 2 different policies - Kiosk Mode and Locked Kiosk Mode. Kiosk Mode simply installs the Hearo App, while Locked Kiosk Mode locks it, making it inescapable from leaving the App. Remove both the Kiosk Mode and Locked Kiosk Mode to delete the Hearo App. Wait 5-10 minutes before adding the Kiosk Mode app to install the App to and confirm that the App reinstalled - All information will be saved; no need to Sign In and reselect Location and Individual. After confirming that App works and you’re still connected to a network, push the Locked Kiosk Mode to lock the Kiosk back into place and confirm it no longer allows you to exit.
